All because of a name mix up and then no one verified. RIDICULOUS.I completely agree with molimae, but papoxa... I mean c'mon. Hello..... MRI, CT Scan, all better then dentist xray! More then one person fuc.ed up here. The operating doctor should hold some responsibility, he removed the jaw. I think she is still very pretty and money can buy you beauty. I agree with nurse4kitties, someone HAD that cancer, it just wasn't this lady. The lab put the incorrect name on the paper work. The sad thing is the other person didn't have enough time for treatment when the error was found. To that poor soul I say R.I.P.

She was told she would die, and she didnt die, all that happens was that he lost half her jaw..

If I'd been told I had aggressive, inoperable cancer that was going to do me in within a few months, the first thing I would have done: crap my pants.
The second thing I'd have done: gotten a second opinion.
For Chrissakes, anytime you have a rare kind of tumor, some specimens are preserved and not just tossed away.
I'm sure that whoever looked at the slides got it right...it had to be a data entry problem.
If that was the case, it meant the person to whom that tumor really belonged got misdiagnosed as well.
That's probably how she got the news that the lab results were erroneous...the other person probably got worse or died, and his or her doctor contacted the lab...
...but look at it this way: at least SOMEONE came forward with the truth.
Otherwise, the "usual treatment" could have been mistaken for a "cure".
So you wind up with a few choices:
1)You think you're going to die, then find out it was an error;
2)You think you're going to die, and amazingly you don't and celebrate;
or
2)You think you're going to die, amazingly recover, but you spend the rest of your life worrying that it'll come back.

Ouch.

You guys shouldnt be that angry on the doctors its not like they did it on purpose, doctors are humans and humans all make mistakes. (just to be clear im not a doctor, or like medicine in any way :P). If someone was hit by a drunk driver its not the same if he was hit by a normal driver "accidently". Things that are not meant to happen are meant to happen. get the point? These things that happen are just destiny you have no control over it. There is always a positive side even in the worst things, in this case the doctor will feel what a terrible thing he has done and will pay more attention to these things in the future, and the mother should be thankful that she is not dying! and will value life than ever before! ofcourse you can say "but whats her fault? this shouldnt happen in the first place.. " well it should happen.. or it happened and thats it.. nothing is gone for waste everyone learned a lesson, even in worst accidents. thats y its called "accidents" . To sue someone and hurt someone because they did something they didnt mean to is just more awfull and a desperate act of revenge.

It doesn't sound fair, but docotors DO NOT have a right for mistake. My friend nearly died when giving birth, because careless midwife gave her wrong medicine. And there are a lot more people who got the wrong diagnosis or treatment.
