the red cloud you see when they hit is not smoke, which i what I previously thought. The red cloud is actually blood. The full video clip explains that, however we are not fortunate enough to see this.

It is pretty obvious that is not blood. Firstly, it is the wrong colour, secondly - it behaves like smoke and not liquid (because it is smoke) and thirdly - if that was blood, the guy loosing it would have been dead on impact because:

1. If the guy had so much blood in his legs, he would have been dead prior impact because of too hight bloodpressure resulting in an instant expansion of his cappilars.
2. Loosing that much blood in an instant would result in the bloodpressure reduced to a minimum so low, that his heart would stop functioning instantly, and his brain would have taken alot of damage within minutes (if that much because of incriesed adrennalin due to being hyped cause of the jump).

1... Dead on impact? If you watch the f'kin video its tells you he's dead before he hits the ground.
2... Blood in legs? Any damage to either femoral artery can result in bleeding to death ie. Before he hit the ground.
3... Air pressure drops as velocity increases, the poor guys blood would've pretty much been sucked out of him due to the huge difference in air/blood pressure and at that speed, liquid can appear to behave like smoke because of vaporisation.

1. First off - the guy loosing his legs survives... The 'Blood' (which is smoke) you see supposely should come from the surviving guy who looses his legs.
2 and 3. Exactly - you just proved my point. If that was blood you see, the guy would have been dead instantly.
4. I am very sorry about my spelling, but sadly I English isn't my native language, so there might come some bad spelling mistakes out of it. It doesn't make my points less real, though.
Maybe YOU should try and see the video once more? Then you would realise what I just said.

The smoke generator releases white smoke, why would it release pink/red smoke right at the moment of impact. I think it is highly unlikely that they had white/pink smoke generators on them.
And if you could see the red and white cloud that happened right after the impact, the red cloud quickly fades because it is not smoke, it is liquid, and falls down, while the white cloud hangs.
