His book, Sniper, is the account of his tours in Vietnam as a USMC Sniper. He was so successful, that the VC put a price on his head, and sent one of their best after him. After several days of hide and seek, Hathcock noticed a flash of light, sighted on it and fired. His round took the VC sniper through the scope, and ultimately the head. The flash of light, was the sun reflecting off of the VC's scope, miliseconds before he was going to pull the trigger on Hathcock.2532580- 0

The bullet will never make it through the scope as it is always deflected by the lens. They disproved this falacy on MythBusters using 6 scopes and none of them made it through even using a more powerful gun and aiming with guns bolted to a table within a few feet of each other. mythbusters doesnt know the EXACT conditions of this and i believe most of these expirements that they do are indeed possible under certain conditions. there are many factors that could have lead to a bullet going through the scope and all mythbusters does is say POSSIBLE or IMPOSSIBLE without considering these. I dont like that show at all....

There is a story about Viet Nam era Marine Corps sniper Carlos Hathcock (VC called him White Feather). Hathcock had 93 confirmed sniper kills and possibly another 100 unconfirmed (more than any other sniper) and the VC put a pretty heavy price on his head. The story is that Hathcock found the VC sniper sent to kill him and shot him through the scope. Hathcock never confirmed nor denied that this had taken place, but this is where the movie folks got the idea for it in "Saving Private Ryan" and "Enemy at the Gates".

this is the same as punching through say 3 windows if you hit the first window right in the middle no matter what the conditions are your hand doesnt go straight through the window it takes a diflection NO MATTER WHAT and the conditions dont matter because a drop of rain isnt going to affect the path of a bullet AND in this video the guy who shoots the sniper is at a lower level shooting up so how does the bullet all of a sudden level off and go straight through the scope

I've been in shooting academy for years and i teach shooting my self, We have trainings just to learn how to shoot like that, So the shot just now was do-able, requires lots of concntration, one thing.... The rifle we use is far more advance, "custom made" i don't think i can take that shot through the scope, aspecially with an old springfield..... Salute!

he puts his eye right up to the scope, towhere it is actually touching the outer rim of his eye. Immagine shooting a (presumably) .30 cal bolt action rifle with the damn scope pushed up against your eye. I guarentee you that you wouldnt be using that eye again any time soon.
