Her current novel series explores the interaction and conflict between biologically enhanced and "natural" humans as they colonize a distant world. The Silver Ship and the Sea won the Endeavor Award for best science fiction or fantasy novel released by a Northwest author in 2007, and her most recent novel, Reading the Wind, is the second book in the series.
