Insanity - The ride

I work for the company that does the souvenir photos of the riders on Insanity and I photographed the ride before it opened to the public. I also rode it that night. It goes around 20 times and I counted the revs as I went round and round and almost hurled chunks. It is reletively safe and has an automatic shut down in the event that the wind exceeds 19 mph. Some of you may have heard that it once shut down during its cycle and merely stopped slowly, but did not rotate back to the resting stage. Several people were on board and remained suspended over the north end of the building for deveral hours until the engineers figured out that it could be manually pulled back into its resting stage. Up to that point everyone was stumped as to what to do and 2 girls on the ride began to panic. No one was hurt and they were all given complimentary dinner in the Top of the World Restaurant.
As for suicide, the easiest access is in fact the gate that opens to let the ride over the edge of the building. Several people have done it right there. Those things are always kept hushed from the news.

these rides when they were built i f****** chickened out to go on em half of the tower will soon be turning into a nightclub

When I first moved to Vegas, the rides atop Stratosphere were the first things I tried. Expensive as hell, though.

Seen it in Vegas in 2003 they had another ride there too. That is so high up not sure if I could do it? Lol!!!

i rode the ride and it seems unsafe because there is only one safety latch and your legs are just hanging off, but i guess thats what made it unsafe and fun

not because i'm afraid but because i don't trust machinery...

Noway I get on that shit. I don't care how safe they say it is. That building by itself is a disaster waiting to happen just wait and see.

Right up there with bungee jumping and other 'fun' things to do from great heights. | dont trust man made things well enough to go up in anything other than aircraft, and even in those | try not to think of some lazy assed production line worker thinkin 'well thats good enough' when they're half assin the work they do on the wing spar or somethin. Hell | dont even like ladders.

|'d rather stay on the ground lookin at hotties instead of pukin on 'em from way up on some building.
