This is the record BLUE CATFISH. No one is saying this catfish has anything to do with the 600+ pound mekong catfish from tailand. Do some research before you make these comments acting like you know something.

"America was taken from Lake Texoma in 2005. It weighed 126 lbs" Wrong the one from Texhoma was 121.5, it was the record in 2004-2005ish. Shortly afterwards(roughly a year) the 124(which is the one in the video, I assume)was caught in the Mississippi.


"The Catfish caught in the Missisippi River was a White-not a blue.". No im sorry the White Catfish doesnt get anywhere near that size. In fact they are in the range of something like 10-20#. This is infact a Blue catfish.

Just do some research before you make claims about things you have no idea about.

The so called huge "CATFISH" aught in europe are different species. All you have to do is looka thier tails and they look more like EELS. The Catfish caught in the Missisippi River was a White-not a blue. This fish was kept alive and wsa givin to the fish and game department and is in an aquarium and alive. They wanted to keep the fish alive for research. It did not get stuffed or eaten. This fish broke the previous record from lake texoma just a few years ago.

Sorry, don't think so, unless this is a way old clip. The record was broken last year in the Alton Illinois area, on the Mississippi River, with a cat captured well over 200 pounds. Second, tell the S**ker that caught that 600 pound catfish in China to get it documented, and join the fun

the biggest catfish have been caught in russua/ukraine/, the river Don, around the place called the devil's throat - topping 400kg/900-1000lbs/, monsters about 4-5 meters long.but the clip is somehow accurate because they after that say world record for blue catfish/i guess a kind of catfish, that don't grow a lot/. i mean it is very very often a 100kg+ to be caought!!!which is 220lbs

The chinese variety are Mekong catfish, a different species. The largest blue catfish (the kind in this clip) caught in America was taken from Lake Texoma in 2005. It weighed 126 lbs and was caught on a regular rod and reel with 20 lb test line. The man who caught it said he fought the fish for 3-4 hours. It was in all the papers and verified by fish and game authorities.

If they did put the big catfish in some sort of container WITH water, it could have lasted the journey. I'm not saying they didn't put it in water, but I remember when we had a couple catfish in the bucket, and we went back home from a 2 hour some drive, and the only fish alive in the bucket was the catfish, still aggressive and energetic.

im pretty sure it wasnt the biggest catfish ever cause i saw another clip where the fish was almost as big as the guys boat. also i think there was a catfish caught in the great lakes that was 12 feet long.

still impressive for its species, when i fish people ask me what im going for, i say roach, they say how big do they get? i say they can grow to about 3lbs but the average is about 8oz. they say why the hell you fishing for a small fish? i say F**k YOU, im after the record for the best fish in this country.
