Black Sabbath briefly enlisted Dave Donato to sing for them after Ian Gillan returned to Deep Purple after the 'Born Again' tour. Donato did not last long in Sabbath, but some recording did occur. This is an extremely early version of "The Shining", which was titled at this time "No Way Out". Enjoy! ...
Tony Martin is 100x better!!!!!!!!!

By absassi [Affiliate User] 1219704510 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDoesn't sound too bad. Kinda sounds like a less gritty Ian Gillan. If Geezer and Bill could have stuck it out, this might have been an interesting line-up.
By acefrehley2001 [Affiliate User] 1219694846 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI bought an issue of Kerrang magazine around '84 with pictures of Donato (and his big belt buckle) with Black Sabbath, including Bill Ward. I wondered why nothing ever happened, they said in the article that things were going well.. Anyway, cool to finally hear what he sounds like.
By Mystifier122 [Affiliate User] 1218563937 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveEven in this demo stage, it's still a strong song. Would be great if they had done more than a demo, but then again it may have threatened the existance of "The Shining" as a track on "Eternal Idol"
