I'm fully expecting to get shot down by some idiot for this but I'm colour blind ao wasn't really expecting to see anything, but something crazy happend instead of seeing the colours. . . . seriously my eyes feel like they're on fire, won't stop watering, I feel like I'm gonna spew and I got an instant headache. Does anyone know how this actually works? Not some smart ass comment but really how it works?! As crap as I feel know it's still pretty cool that I felt some effects at least, usually I'm the one left out of these sort of posts! =)

- Its an after image
your eye retains the colour around the dot. And when the colour is replaced by a neutral colour like 18% grey , you see the complimentary colour of the colour you just say. It is an effect similar to simultaneous contrast. Artists like Van Gough and Paul Cezzane have been using this effect. Painting two colours adjecently to create a third colour in the viewers mind.

The effect is due to a trait in human vision known as persistence of vision, every image is retained in the brain for 1/0th of a second, which means when you look at the Grey you were merely seeing the color you get when the previous color in the background is mixed with Grey.

its not that difficult to explain this. the colors are cotrast of each other so it didnt matter if the word said blue and the background was red. if the background was orange then it would be blue because they CONTRAST from each other.
