Just when you think you may not like someone because of the things you believe they represent, the love of animals seems to break down the barriers to allow you to hear them with fresh ears. Howard Stern opened my eyes because dogs opened our hearts.

I never thought I’d be saying this, but Howard Stern and I have something in common. We both had parents who believed dogs didn’t belong in the house. He says his probably didn’t want the responsibility and in my case, mine didn’t want the mess or the alleged mess. I’m sure we kids were contributing enough to that as my parents made a litter of their own - 5 kids.

So here in a world of such diverse opinions, dogs can be a significant factor in bringing people together.

While I’m not the demographic to listen to Howard’s show, I could chat with him about dogs and found him to be practically an altar boy when talking about animals. He’s so masterful in his gentle pursuit to persuade others to adopt that he’s like the sought after preacher with a substantial Sunday sermon a’ la story to boot.
