Most people who buy guns legally don't do anything wrong, it's the illegal guns we should worry about. Taking away legal guns gives no way for people to defend themselves. I know this is a generalization but people who commit crimes aquire guns illegally, people who are saved from crimes buy guns legally. All you hear about are the gun related deaths when the greater number is the number of people saved by guns, but you see this isn't a good news story. People say kids are killed by tampering with guns when the fact, and you can look it up, is more kids die by drowning in pools. It's not the pool's fault it's the parents for not watching their kids.

Most people who commit crimes are with legal guns. Wether stolen or purchases days before the commited crime. Do husbands who find out their wives have been cheating on them buy their guns from terrorists or drug dealers? I don't think so. Do gangsters who shoot up their block buy their guns illegally? Probably, but the gun was purchases legally in the first place anyway. As are all other guns. So as long as guns can still be purchases "legally" they can still be stolen and then sold and purchased again which makes the legal weapon now illegal. Now Shh.

Ok. I am from sweden, people may look down to me because of it but some might aswell look up to me. In this country, we have gunlaws that works superb! Ofcourse the illigal shooting continues, but overall we're fine.

You have to be 18 to take a gunlicens. You can't get a gun if you have ever made a crime, small same as big, and you have to have have been a swedish citizen for atleast 3 years. The exam is basicly to turn in pappers from the police that you have never done crimes and then show that you can aim. Then ofcourse a quite large fee every year. If you take the hunter-exam you will also have to answer 70 out of 80 questions right in a test about hunting laws.

Now, I'm not that old (19) (got the huntinglicens) so I might be to imature to get in to this discussion.

Statistics from hospitals around the country shows that less than only 13 (31 if count all the knifestabbings) persons have been hurt or killed in anyway from guns this year. Now I realize that this country isn't that big in compare some and quite frankly, I've only heard about Americas weaponlaws. And from what I've heard, I can't say that I approve. But please correct me if I'm wrong! Isn't it right that any legal citizen of the USA can march in a weapon store with money and some ID, and march out with a gun? This might not apply to all states, but still, if it's true, I think (my thoughts really don't matter. I realize that.) that something should be done. Atleast make it harder to aquire a gun in the frist place so there are not that many out in peoples homes. I mean, so only people that really want a gun, and perhaps needs it could get one. I suggest a test or/and a high monthly or every-year fee.

As I said. I don't want to argue, I'm just speaking my mind. And need diffrent point of views from other people.

That US leads the death count with firearms (excluding 3rd world countries and places where wars are present :P) by more than 20 times the runner up which is Germany with about 400 deaths/yr? I lived in the US for several yrs and that's where I'm located now and although one should not generalize with such a big country with so many diverse people, 2 ideas are always present in almost every state (with some exceptions of course): everyone is dangerous, including ur friendly neighbour with the 2 dogs and you have the right to protect urself. Hence 2 2=4, which in this case means more firearms, hence more deaths related with firearms. About evidence just google for "death firearms US" and u'll find a lot of references and many of them from reliable sources.

im sure we do have alot of deaths by firearms... possibly even the most. in any big city in any given country with a free government, (saying the gov thing to exclude china & other communist countries) you will have many different people with different thoughts and views about many different things. also, the more people in a small space, the more crime. the more crime, the more need to protect yourself. knives are good, but arent ranged weapons, so buy a gun! the more people that think that, the more and more deaths by firearms there will be. its a continous cycle that'll never end. and there are many many many many many people here in US, almost too many. LA, NYC, DC, Austin, Chicago, Portland, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Charlotte, LV, etc etc are all huge cities, many of them with high crime rates.(hate to say it, but esp DC, LA, LV, and NYC).
