Carcassonne, France, is a very pretty town very much in the south of France between Toulouse and the Mediterranean

And Carcasssonne its one of Europe’s fabled wall cities with a picture book castle

These walls of Carcassonne were built by war like Romans and Visigoths

but Caracassonne actually inspired Walt Disney to choose the castle as his model for the castle in Sleeping Beauty

It’s a popular place Carcassonne…sometimes too popular with the many summer tourists ducking into arches and taking horse drawn tours

But walking in the old city

getting lost get lost in the winding streets of Caracassonne

Stopping in a small café and speciality shop are special moments
