    fact that cat has fallen and "acted" as dead has been because of musle stress during hunting peroid on bird. Something as if u workout for a half day and then stop :) For a short time she accumulated whole her energy to catch him

      Generally the higher the intellegence potenial the more capacity they have for basic emotion, you know that animals feal fear, anger, affection, and desire particularly for food and mating, and if an animal is unsuccessful in an endeavor that is strongly desired such as capturing food or their affection is met with hostility they can display frustration and they are able to feel loss for more than just their young per say but also a mate. Animals of lower intellegence such as most fish don't even possess these traits but are driven mainly by instinct which is what wild life has in place of reason and one of the main things that separates man from beast, as man has NEVER been beast and neither will animals ever become man, but either is able to mimic the other of course.
