That's nothing new.
To explain, you use a small ammout of ether (starting fluid) once around, and a lit match (thrown from a distance of course) and it doesn't even cause your tire to implode. But if you use too much it can blow you tire back off the rim and cause damage, injury, maybe even death. Plus using gas or diesel fuel poured on the tire bead as lube to dismount and remount the tire on the rim works better than soap, and evaporates when finished.
