It seems the political party Congress wanted a glamorous and younger Bollywood candidate after Govinda for the constituency.

So, Priyanka Chopra was invited by Sonia Gandhi for the same, as she is someone who connects to the urban youth.

Election campaigning seemed a bit much for Priyanka. She had to say no, although Sonia Gandhi was keen.

Priyanka is neither contesting nor campaigning for any candidate.

Besides, her schedules and taking over Govinda's constituency seemed a rather daunting task to Priyanka.
