I've seen a movie where a tiger swims across about a mile of sea (in Indonesia) to an island off-shore, when he's nearly there something in the water grabs him and drags him under. After a brief struggle the tiger gets out of the water holding a 6 foot shark in his mouth!!! Howz that for sushi??

I hope some of you are aware that tigers go into the water when there is sometimes several crocs and take there food? look at the old video's of tigers doing that, If I am not mistaking they show an old black and white video of a tiger fighting a croc in the water and the tiger still killed the croc.

That may hold true for wild animals trying to escape a crocs jaws, but I would not recomend it for a human. crocs use there tails like huge whips wich have been known to snap legs like twigs. The best thing to do is find something to climb. DO NOT RUN IN ZIG ZAGS LIKE A DRUNKEN MORON!!!! unless you wish to be eaten. They are fast but only over short distances so run like hell to the nearest tree you can find.

- I have been told the same thing.
That you should run zig zags, and in theory it sounds like a good idea, but then i was watching something on animal planet and they said it depends greatly upon the distance between you and the croc. If you are too close or too far away it could be the last choice you make and it was said the best thing is to get high off the ground if possible.

A shark being attacked will dive. I've had a blue shark try and get at me, luckily I had a knife and slashed at it, after being harras.sed and that thing sped away like you wouldn't belive. Tigers are nimble, but in the water a shark is in it's element. Don't get me wrong, tigers kick arse, but it's because of their manuevers, not strength. If the croc had got any part of the tiger in his jaws, the cat would be a goner.

They are one of those cats that do, given that they are mostly found in tropical countries. And they have frequent meetings with crocs given that crocs are plentiful in tropical waters too. There have been a lot of well documented cases of tigers killing full grown crocs in a river, fighting off group of crocs for a carcass etc. etc. As a matter of fact, there was once a tiger that had specialised in killing in water since it realised that deers are a lot slower in water and it would have to frequently fight off crocs before pulling its kill on to the land. And they are quite stronger than you could imagine. A single swipe from a Tiger can break the neck of a full grown Sambar which is one of the biggest deers out there.

Crocs are not as vulnerable as you think on land. They are dangerous in any enviroment, and i know first hand from living near them in the NT, Australia. They may not move fast on land, but in short bursts they can easily outrun a human, and once they have you in their jaws, it's lights out. And they do death roll on land, they use the move to tear the flesh to swallow whole, as they can't chew.

i would have thought the croc could take the tiger.. bigger jaws, and more pounds per inch. Plus the crocodile's skin is very thick.. which would make it difficult for the tiger to bite into its throat.

If the tiger's victory did not depend on the crocodile's awkwardness, where is the footage of a tiger getting the best of an adult Crocodylus porosus in the water. Fat chance!

crocs are cold blooded. they wait and ambush their prey but can't fight for as long as a tiger. he probably wore him down.

In the water or mud I doubt it. And there are crocs' that are much larger then tigers,although unfair, that would eat that tiger up meat,fur and bones.

Tigers have been my favorite animals since i was little i have studied many facts about them many people abou the lion is king of the jungle is fake tigers are the strongest in whole intire cat family and can crush a human or any other animals skull with ease i had no doubt that the tiger would lose.

Impressive kill by tiger, cuz the croc is much more massive and sturdier, but it seems croc's leather does not help against tiger's jaws.
I always though that agility wins over constitution and it seems.

In this case the 220 kg tiger has killed a 450 kg croc, which is also much more durable, though it seems crocs leather did not help him against tiger's jaws, what shows that if a tiger can get through croc's leather, there ain't no big deal for tiger to slay any bear in the azian continent.
