Republican lawyer and Texas senate member, Chris Harris, introduced senate bill 1314 that would place the Texas Medical Board in control of the practice of acupuncture. Currently, Chiropractic doctors DO HAVE IN THEIR SCOPE OF PRACTICE, practice of acupuncture, I think we are the ONLY group not governed by the TMB that does, so this is a thinly veiled attack on Chiropractic doctors to limit their scope of practice to exclude acupuncture.
We MUST defeat the bill when it is voted on by the House of Representatives in Texas. It would needlessly interfere with patients who want acupuncture from their Chiropractic Doctors.
