Cus got him to use it in the ring. And for those who say tyson was only a street fighter, he used a double left to the body to set up his devastating right upper cut. That is called boxing. Sure he knocked a lot of boxers heads off early but not every fight was a round 1 knockout. I have seen every fight and you can't compare young tyson to his older self any more than you can compare Ali to young tyson. No contest tyson knocks him out early but the later tyson would likely lose in a decision.

There's just too much bad history, lazy thinking, and utter crap out there to respond to. That said, I couldnt resist adding thoughts to the discussion. I thought I would debunk some of the inane/mythical statements I just read:

He was no mere brawler. He fed himself the idea that he was the animal you told him he way, and he believed it. He stopped everything D'Amato taught him.
