Two hundred million years ago, just seconds before a comet
collides with Earth, a small, young, red dinosaur, Eddie (genus:
Allosaurus rubra edwardii), is standing right under the rear end
of one of his gigantic relatives. The big dinosaurs see the comet,
panic and lose control. Eddie instantly becomes enveloped in a lump of dinosaur doo that crystallises from the heat when the comet explodes, trapping him but saving his life.
Millions of years pass with Eddie watching the world go by from
within his lump of glass rock. He is finally discovered and
liberated in the modern day by 11 year-old Samantha and her
Aboriginal friend, Harley, while they are studying rocks for a
school project. The adventure begins.
