This is the safest and best way to stop a nitro rc engine. It leaves adequate oil in the crankcase after stopping, and burns off any fuel left inside the engine.

This is better than blocking the exhaust because doing that actually floods the engine to get it to stop. This happens because when you block the exit of the gases, the only other way the pressure can go is up the fuel tank pressure line; therefore pressurising the tank much more than when it is running normally, which forces much more fuel in to the carburetor, thus flooding the engine.

In my opinion, stopping the engine by forcing a screwdriver against the flywheel is just stupid. I would highly recommend the pinch method because you can also check if your LSN is correctly set.
