My buddy used to race on the Maalox/Charmin pro driving tour... he was the points champion in 1974 and 1977... he could beat a racehorse on a donkey--if you know what I mean. Well anyways, he took my pure stock 1993 Chevy Lumina 3.3 V6 to the track last summer... He put 92 octane in the tank, removed the air filter and proceeded to run an 11.3 1/4 mile @ 127 mph... I got in and ran a 16.79 @ 82 mph... OK, so it's either ALL about the driver like I said OR I made this whole BS story up to waste your time! Believe it or Not!

Reaction times do not count towards your 1/4 mile time. It is the 60' times that matter here. In the first race the Mercedes does the first 60' in about 1.8 second and the Supra in nearly 2.2. A reduction of .1 second in 60' time = .3 seconds in 1/4 mile time. If the Supra would go 2.0 in the first 60 feet, he'd run 11.5 or so in the 1/4 mile. So basically, if the guy in the Supra could learn to launch his car, he'd beat the Mercedes every single time. A 2.0 60' time is average for a street car. 2.2 is horrible.

these cars i love,wanted the supra but couldnt find one,wanted the benz but the price is hight,what can i say,i would take the supra since there r only (aprox)2 in lebanon.and why the hell dont they get some spaire parts in here ,nice vid,the benz engine is way batter.he should have taken both rounds idiot(im talking if stock,since they gave no specs,but the supra didnt sound stock at all must be the outs and the turbo)

either the guy on the benz takes off to fast or the supra guy has no h2i.

The supra is a lot of noise.... a lot of look... but the benz is more POWERFUL, jejjejejeje

Look at the MPH on the slips. MPH tells you which car is truly faster. The ET's are based too much on the driver. If the Supra guy was a better driver he has over 10mph on the Mercedes both races, and he would have beaten him.

Yes the SUPRA sounds like a piece of crap but one thing to remember is that the s600 benz costs about 10 times more than a clapped out supra. Anyone seen the G wagon BENZ make, acceleration of a ferrari in a 4WD. Nice...

5.) fucking v12 is double size of a jza80 6 cylinder NON TIWN TURBO CHARGED (he got the fucking stock supra and added a ricer tone turbo)

on DOT tires as the Supra was running, you should spin the tires for seconds to warm them up. the smoke looks good, but causes ruber to form small balls on the tires, so less traction off the line.

MERCEDES...the name is enough...don kno y tht dumb ass supra guy even dared to race...

They shouldn't race a light, 2 door sports car against a 2.5 ton 4-door sedan. The fact that Mercedes beat Supra just shows how great that Sedan is. I owned a 320HP 1992 500 S-Class and even that car was like a missile going over clouds, powerful and smooth.

Someone needs to tell the Supra driver that when the light turns green, you go. Reflexes like grandma and an engine that sounds like her 1950's blender. If I had the Mercedes on the track, I'd open the window and smoke a Romeo and Juliet cigar during the race!! :)
