      • nothing to do with anything

microwaves use waves called "microwaves" [duh] to cook food. microwaves are about as thick as your finger. now, go look at your microwave. notice how the screen of the microwave isnt clear? that's because it has a metal sheet with tiny holes in it so that the microwaves cant go through it.

Mobile phones uses microwave transmission ... yup, the same microwave used to cook your food. The intensity is a lot lesser than the microwave oven or your brain will fry quickly. Ever wonder why mobile phones heat up in prolonged conversation? Water vapour is affected in the same way as water is heated up in the microwave oven. This test is valid ... I tried and my phone cannot receive any incoming call while it was in the microwave oven

                                          • Wonder if CPU

Woner if my CPU does emit microwaves, it heats, doesnt it? Lol and it has only radiator and fan, no fancy perfored mesh :] haha.
One doesnt need microwaves toheat something. MW just give energy to water particles and heat up things.
Heat which comes from cell phone is caused by either:
                                            -CPU/transiztors heating up
-energy passed my EM waves - its possible - but not MW

If You want to know why cell phone wont rang if put into metal cage try reading about faradday cage - or even try to make a call while standing in soem metal construction, certainly cell will loose some range.

                                          • Test is invalid, I am certain.

The wavelength of microwaves is about the diameter of a pen (writing implement). The door of the oven has a layer of metal perforated with little holes that the microwaves can't fit through. Also, mobile phones do not use microwaves. Microwaves travel in straight lines. Just as straight as a lazer. They bounce off metal, so ricochet around in there until they hit your food. They can carry radio signals from one fixed position (towers, rooftops) to another fairly securely. They are used by all 50 states of the USA government in a system called NAWAS. It is an emergency system for distributing information. It was built during the cold war for notifying that nukes were coming, and can still do that, but is generally used for emergency weather communication. (tornadoes, etc.) That being said, be aware that while your microwave is extremely unlikely to let the microwaves out, it certainly give off radiation. All cell phones give off some radiation, and all microwave ovens do also, but the microwaves release significantly higher levels. A neurosurgeon I spoke to about the cell phone radiation issue, advised me not to worry about the phones, but to leave the room when using my microwave. I suggest to you that you consider this a test of the quality of your cell phone and the signal it is receiving.

                                        • Not necessarily true

That is because the frequency range for microwaves is greater that the ones for mobiles making the grounding (i.e. protection of the microwave) only valid for such a range of frequencies. Hence it is not necessarily valid if ur mobile goes on, yet if it does not go on, that means it has on hell of a grounding circuit.
