    Because "the stakes" will Always be high to them.

    When have the stakes not been high to these partisan water carriers, if the democrats were poised to take control of govt?
    They know they have to lie to prevent that because their facts of how horrible dems are can never be convincing to informed citizens - so they have to make up their own false facts and hope there are enough dumbed down partisans to believe anything without ever questioning it.
