Fun Word Riddle

9 letters :
i - pi - pig - prig - sprig - spring - sparing - sparking - sparkling
a - at - ate - late - later - latter - platter - splatter - splattere
i - pi - pie - pies - pries - prices - princes - princess - princesse
i - in - sin - sing - sting - siting - sitting - slitting - splitting

I have a 10 letters one, but it's "sparklingl".
The english word list I found may not be good...
(What is a splattere and a sparking ? But they are in the list I found...)
So, if anyone has a good english words list for feeding in my program... I'm still looking for it !

out teaching english in a swedish school, a class of 8-9 yr olds and its good for that sort of thing, it interests them.

...that gives all the word sequences like this one for a certain language.
I did it on a french word list, and I can already say that there's a 11 letters french word that works. (It's "avaliseraie" for the french-speaking curious, mmh quite a strange word, but it was in my word list...)
I'll give it a run on the english language as soon as I can lay my hand on a complete english word list (besides, if someone got one for me...)
I'll let you know if I can find better than "startling" !

Good thoughtful bit. I'm for anything that promotes English literacy. Sad that most respondents to the comments page have a ten-word vocabulary, three of which are derivatives of "F**k ". Actually rare to see someone comment without taking a profane swipe at someone else.
