    ok lets be clear. Kato died riding a Honda Rcv211 in 03..Telefonica colours.. (japanese race). Nakkers still rides-pretty well too. He NEVER rode a 500cc kawasaki (they havent had one for years)- he took over Pitt's ride on the now defunct 990cc Moto GP bike. The rear tyre exploded on the main straight, locking the rear wheel highsiding him.He was fine

  • You must mean Daijiro Kato;

    He died at Suzuka in 2002 (or maybe 2003, I'm not sure). This is Shinya Nakano, last year and the crash indeed was at 200 mph, or about 320 km/h. He wasn't badly hurt at all, just bruised and battered.

    S.Nakano, 500cc MotoGP japanese race driver for kawasaki. from my experience with race bikes, notice how he falls, sliding at first from the rear, must be something mechanical with the breaks, when u hit the rear breaks hard, the bike slides, only he slided at 320 km/h. didnt see him in the top 10 list this year, i wonder if he still races...

      He died. He is the only person to ever to have died racing motogp. Not many people knows what happened for sure. The track had a very high speed corner that many riders crashed at before, and they went to the hospital. Many of the riders took that corner a lot easier because they knew if they fell off that it would hurt really bad. Where S. Nakano crashed was thought to be a safe area. No one had ever really crashed there before. It was a freak accident, he was a such a good rider the Karasaki actually had hopes for the title. Very sad.

      I dont really pay attention to motogp, but i was just judgin from what i saw on the clip, and he appears to be wavin his arm around at end. He may have died in the hospital or shortly thereafter, but he still luck to have not died on impact.
