  • Of course it's invalid

Anyone who has ever used DOS knows that, it's a reserved work along with LPT1, PRN, etc. Forcing the system to have the name might give you unpredicable results depending on which part of the OS tries to access the directory - not to mention things like the defrag, chkdsk, virus protection, etc. Also I'll bet it will be a right pig to delete...

  • CON reserved keyword..

Have you ever tried in DOS to create a new text file and save it on the command prompt?

    try> copy con abc.txt
type this text to be visible in the file
enter a new line after that
    ^z

This will create a new file with the abc.txt with the content you had typed!
