I dont rly see how that is a 'secret hidden audio track' or whatever, unless ya count the fact that it is audio and stored in an images folder. I have always known how to get to that. That is the music that plays when installing my copy of WindowsXP from the disk that came with my laptop, it just loops. However, in the video the song was about 5.5 mins, mine is over 7 mins, but from thoses fist few secs of audio in the vid, along with haveing the same name, format, and bitrate, I am sure they are supposed to be the same, maybe mine is just some special extended version, eh? lol

What is easier to find the sound whitout a risk at all

2) then click search
3) typ in "title.wma"
4) select C:
5) press enter

i know this music, but not from IE, I always get this music when I install windows XP on a machine, it plays in the background of first configuration (where you configure date, time, language etcetera). nice song though.

Of course the windows CD must contain the sound-driver for yoy to hear it, and wery few windows instalations does it...

In the beginning 2 minutes, it sounds like one of Savage Garden's old songs. It sounds like one of their more popular songs of the 90's. I can remember some of the words in my head but I can't think of the title of the song. Sorry.

simply u don't have to change the settings just go to the specfic folder and u will find the media file which called title and by the way it's not worth it at all. just a waste of time

It's played during the installation of Windows. Whenever I want my colleagues to believe I'm busy with admin stuff, I play it.

... but why don't you record your computer with a screen recorder, like HyperCam or CamStudio?

Here are some facts about this:

1. This is not a hidden or secret file.

2. It is for the Windows XP oobe (out-of-box-experience). If you bought an PC with XP preloaded off the shelves, you would hear this. However, most of us decided to upgrade our existing machines, in that case, the sound card drivers get deleted, so you couldn't hear this. BTW I don't think the x64 version's oobe plays this.

3. It would be impossible for it to be 16:12 minutes long. It is 5:24 minutes long.

4. There are no bad pictures in that folder.

5. As I stated above, the file itself is not hidden. Setting Explorer to Un-hide folders and files makes your computer's system files vulnerable to accidental deletion. You can open title.wma without viewing hidden&protected files.

6. "IE 3's setup CD plays this". No it does not! Windows 3.0&3.1 can't process audio this well! Plus, the song is different altogether!

7. "Brian Eno may have made this". Brian Eno worked for Windows 95, his most famous piece being the "Microsoft Sound", Win 95's start up sound. I'm pretty sure he had nothing to do with XP.

Example of windows bloated OS, and I am sure it is copy written, so you can't use it for anything.

i found it with out doing all that. i just pressed F3 on my windows media player and i found it along with alot of the junk from my games.

wouldn't it be easier to simply "search" all music files using the 'search' feature..and selecting "include all hidden files"...i did it..and got the same result. =)

I did that and played it with the windows media player and it said windows welcome music in the song description. Wow it does have a lot of bass

as much as i love your other videos, this one is not true. this song is not "secret" whatsoever. When you reinstall your windows completly and you boot it up, this blue menu shows where you cans et up user accounts and passwords. if your sound card's drivers are already installed (if the driver disk boots from disk) you will hear this music. i believe thats also when you buy a pre-build computer from a store.

If you try to rename any file or folder 'con' then it will not allow you to. A lead programmer at microsoft didn't think too highly of bill gates when he got fired and slipped that in before leaving.

To find the secret Windows Hidden Music Track!, right click on the desktop and select new-> Text Document. Right click on the file and slect rename and type in

After you've finished looking at the Windows Hidden Music Track!, you can toss the file in the recycling bin.

Goto start and programs. Click Accessories, then click on Command Prompt.
At the prompt type in EXACTLY as show below and press enter
