I would have made sure the gun had a round chambered at all times so in that situation I would not have had to chamber one. That half a second it took him to pull that slide back almost got him a bullet in the head.

He was reading a magazine and it was obviously at night. The second he hears that little bell, he looked up, saw that the three asses were walking in with masks and just slid down to the floor. His gun was on the counter! He was friggin ready for those jackasses!
The only thing that I am not sure about, is wheter he hit the dude. I mean, after he shot, the bad guy kinda flew up 4 inches. Then the bullet hit the ceiling and the light above. But there wasn't any blood or skin flying. So either the shot was so close that it went through and through very cleanly, or it just barely missed.

Play the video and stop frequently veiwing each segment. Right after the clerk squeezes the trigger the bad guy is lifted up off of the counter by the round. Just as the bad guy starts his upward motion you can see a puff of debris appear in the middle, lower part of his back. At the end of the video when they show the slow motion and stop it, you can see a dark spot in the middle of his lower back. Could be a blood spot.

The store keeper sure took a risk, but I'd say he's faced this situation previously and was prepared this time.

He did over do it firing back at the door like he did. He could have hit someone else besides the bad guys. But of course he didn't know if they were still there when he stood up.
