The turtle tagging team in Ecuador found this juvenile green turtle on the beach in bad shape. Algae and parasites on his shell indicated he was too weak to move, and a plastic bag was protruding from his cloaca (the single opening for excretion and reproduction). Unfortunately, this turtle died and the team found that his gut was full of plastic.
