The nations medal heroes are calling on people to look beyond purely sporting success in London 2012 and create a legacy from the Games that will benefit the environment. Medal winners Victoria Pendleton, James Cracknell and Louis Smith are inviting the public to take tangible action towards a more sustainable lifestyle on Friday 10th July 2009 the first ever Green Britain Day. Alongside EDF Energy, the first sustainability partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, they are asking people to do something for the team and join Team Green Britain.Other Olympic and Paralympic heroes who have already joined the team at teamgreenbritain.org and will be taking action on Green Britain Day include Britains youngest ever Paralympic gold medallist Eleanor Simmonds and Tom James, part of the Beijing 2008 coxless four gold medal-winning rowing team.In this video, the athletes say what they will be doing on Green Britain Day.
