    • It's not wasabi...

      It's called "MOCHI" and it's pounded rice which turns into a sticky rice cake...
      If you were to grill it, it would become a rice cracker.

      This particular mochi is coloured with (most probably) green tea.

      Japanese kids do this at school every year (slowly and carefully) and you can see it being done around the new year at shrines... however, these guys go above and beyond the call of duty... Damn they're good !

    first, boil rice that is special rice for mochi.
    next, put it in a bowl made of wood or stone.
    and one beats it with a hammer ,as the other pugs it.

    the mochi of this video is green, because they add "yomogi" that is a kind of plants.
