    planes land like this at all the airports? Or was there some problem what we don't see or either i didn't catch.

  • You Need to Know

    This landing made at Toncontin International, Tegucigalpa, identified in times past as the world's most dangerous airport. In fact, until the Honduran Government removed most of the mountain (where the video was shot) most airlines (American/Pan Am) would not provide service. There were no go-arounds. If you notice the runway length, the mountains beyond and on all sides (tough for near touch and goes) Toncontin can make for an exciting landing. The approach through the mountains, not shown on this video, remains tricky. Additionally the airport is 3,300 feet above sea level and its one runway is only 6,000 feet long, bare minimum for modern twin engine jets... Sad most people make snap stupid comments when they don't know the details.
