  • morons...the lot of you

the reason the pilot ejected so late was because he wanted to make sure the plane crashed where there were no ppl. You can tell he by the last few seconds on how he maneuvered it.

    • Actually

If you examine the footage, you will see that from the point of flame out, the F4 begins a barrel roll and is at one point almost inverted. The pilot would have had very little control of the aircraft at this slow speed without any power (being delta wing) and his last efforts to control it would be to have righted it (which he fortunately was able to do), since to eject from an inverted aircraft at that height would have most probably resulted in his demise. Finaly if you look over the heads of the spectators in the final frames you will see that he crashed a good half mile away.
I'm not a pilot like most of the other people who comment on these flying incidents but I do have two eyes and a little common sense.
Now what were you saying about morons?

  • Pilots Code

It is in thier code to not eject if the plane will endanger lives. They will go down with the plane if needed.

  • check this

Notice the way he deliberately turns head down, its almost as though he was deliberately chrushing it on to a target not where the crowd was

    • Aircraft

Without engines generally tend to do this sort of thing, it's called gravity.
