      based on true events about a dog team that was left at the south pole , i believe, and they had to survive for several months before the owner was able to return to get them. it also is about the dogs helping each other and surviving. a few of the dogs did not make it that explains the helicopter that can to rescue them. I am not sure if the title was "8 Below" like someone mentioned. can't for the life of me remember the title, sorry. hope this helps with your question through.
