Michael Richards better know for his character on seinfeld Kramer performing stand up at The Laugh Factory makes some really ridiculous remarks towards a heckler. He goes a little bit too far using the N word. At one point he knows he has gone too far but tries to act as if it is funny, he lost his cool, sad moment for a very funny comedian.

      Listen to the reaction of those people in the audience. "oooooh" and that one stupid b-i-t-c-h, "oh my god". They act like that is the worse thing ever said. Those are just words people.

      I can say "nigger" all day. That is called freedom of speech. We have so much pathetic P.C. left over from the 90's and the Clinton administration that it is permeated our society making us afraid to say or do anything, and making many of us unwilling, or unable, to take responsibility for our own actions. Instead we sue people at the drop of a hat for whatever suits us.

      Don't tell me for a second you didn't want to yell like that at some loud mouth niggers messing up your time out whether it be at a restaurant, movie or show. There are blacks, and there are niggers. The niggers are the ones that act like rude animals when they go out. The black people are just out trying to enjoy themselves like everyone else without screwing up the evening. Even Chris Rock said something quite similar in one of his specials.

      Kudos for him saying what he said. Now let's see how many a-s-s-h-o-l-e-s pontificate against this and espouse their opinions raising the "holier than thou" monicker. The media will be full of them.

      America is forgetting just how truly valuable "Free Speech" is and the ultimate cost to our grandfathers for defending it. For it is the dread of man that we forget...
      Have we become so politically correct in this country, that we may no longer have a free country? Where words are banned or saying and writing words could cost you your life? Never. Political Correctness is the most dangerous kind of terrorism, the kind that makes people question our first Amendment.
      To the "cattle" that question this, study countries in the Middle East were saying the wrong "word" will have you legally killed, this by radical muslim extremists governments who control the brainwashed cattle (people) with a form of Political correctness.       The punks in the audience (the ones just off camera) started the whole thing. I know because I was there when they called out the first "cracker, you ain't funny" (they were right about him not being that funny, give' em that much) but no one is talking about these same black people calling out racist remarks to Richards. These drunks would not shut up, the kind of fools we all had to put up with at a movie and want to pull thier touges out, black or white. (People, this clip was after Richards kept on being taunted by the drunk black losers, and is why the person started to film it)
      Can't have it both ways, If Richards is a racist, then the blacks calling him names are just as racist and have no right to complain now. Not saying Richards was right, only both parties are wrong.

      By reading these responses I truly see how racist this country is. I am an African American soldier in the army and also a history major at the University of Florida and yes I do take offense. If the black gentlemen were attacking Kramer using the word cracker they were just as wrong as him. However, being a celebrity he should have known better to touch such a sensative subject because in the end it is his career on the line! As far as blacks enslaving other blacks in Africa this is true. However, if you actually studied the slave trade, as I have, you would know that the Africans had small communities and captures others during war and raids. Their slavery was more or less domestic work not picking cotton or cutting sugar cane. There was a big difference in the slavery and how slaves were treated. As far as slavery being abolished so long ago and the argument that no white people enslaved blacks in America today, did Jim Crow not come after slavery? Did the civil rights movement not happen? Is there no KKK? And did some of the white people in America think Kramer was funny? I know they did because I hear them laughing on the tape! You see the white man controls this country, so when he proves to be racist it effects our race. This is how you get employees at Texaco "saving the good jobs for the whites." And as far as being "hung upside down with a fork up his ass," my father told me stories about seeing men hanging in woods when he was growing up. He is 57. Is that really funny to you. See even if I call you all crackers (which would be uncalled for*) what does it mean? Just that I am ignorant. But when you call me a nigger, Americas horrifying past shines through you.

I think the notion of political correctness that starting gaining popularity in the 90's is partially to blame.     I was shocked that this happened, only someone who really feels this way inside can react this way and express himself this way. I think he is a very funny comedian and it is very sad to see him lose it this way.

    this isn't racist, this is michael richards being put on the spot to come up with material and insult someone who's fucking up his show without going over the line. He was already on the issue and he pushed it too far, but only because he wasn't comfortable enough in his insults, you could tell he was being careful with his insults and trying to rally the crowd to realize their disrespect, but he was too insecure about the use of racial slurs (which comes across as racism)... Just shows he's not a good improvisationalist, anybody else who gets heckled does the same thing, picks a stereotype and hits the heckler back with it, look at dane cook or george carlin... or fuckin' south park making fun of every race, creed, religion, and issue ever...its all about tact, and kramer lost his tack there...he's a physical comedian meaning that with material he can be funny, but he's not an improvisationalist so leave the fuckin' guy alone

      It's too late for that crap! He already admitted on national TV that he lost it. that was pure rage you witnessed here. He is a hasbeen and not very funny and someone pointed that out and it touched a nerve. Mel gibson called himself a drunken idiot and most people can forgive him ,grudgingly, for that reason, but Michael excuses himself and blames the audience for his outburst.     If he really wasn't wrong... he probably wouldn't have left the stage. He knew he fucked up. There's a handleful of comedians that use that word to poke fun at racism to show how stupid it is, it's a political and ethical statement, and I don't see anything wrong with that, but this guy was just being racist, it doesn't matter if he was white or not. He pointed a black man in the audience and called him a racial slur... so it's cool if I point out a asian and call him a chink... how about turning to a white guy and calling him a honky... trying to make an arguement that if black people call themselves that than it is alright for everyone to do it openly is ignorant, because any black man who calls a fellow black man is stupid and ignorant, lets not stoop down to that level.

    when ever someone is talking over a comedian they usually say a joke to them like what ur name and if its stupid they will have a joke about it they settle down and enjoy the show but i dont know if its his type of humor bit that was uncalled for he apologized for it on a show cant remember which one and he said bcos they were talking so much that he snapped.thats no excuse but this is just my own opinion

    using the "N" word for comedy shouldn't be attacked, as the word in itself can't be substituted in some cases ( although humor that requires vulgarity can be omitted in this world). But in this case, Michael Richards was not making a joke. He attacked a man verbally out of anger, ( and I suspect drug induced rage). It should never have been said, and the man apologized to the Nth degree. I believe it when he says he isn't racist, but he did know what he could say to cause the biggest insult. Sometimes in anger we do say things we wouldn't otherwise. The heckler should have shown him some respect, and he definately should have shown the crowd some respect.

It sooned evolved into a word that was used as an insult only by white people against blacks, then and now currently used by black people as either an insult or friendly term, but with one UNWRITTEN rule, see I guess our society instead of making the word total taboo by everybody just seems to say, okay only black people deserve to say nigger. Just like only black people can wear stocking caps, large jewlery, and fitted hats tilted to the side. Fine example if a black person gets on a bus with loose rocawear jeans, a XXXL black tee, stocking cap, fitted hat, and large ice, he is dapd up sometimes and greeted by other black people. Now lets reverse rolls instead of a black guy lets say a white guy is in the same roll, most of the time he is stared at, laughed at, and even sometimes worse just because of the way he is dressed. Now the same goes for both races, when the black guy is in this situation, white individuals may see him as a "thug" or a "threatning" individual and may either critisise him or insult him. The white guy gets it most the time from both parties white and black and some times worse, because he is a "mark" or a "poser". I am white, I was raised in what many would "rich" white folks would consider the "gheto" or "hood". I wear baggy cloths, my hat tipped, and am always iced' up, I listen to hip-hop (thumpin jeezy, lil wayne, and jadakiss), and have nothing but black friends. I say nigga every day and never use it in a racially insulting way, its always datz my nigga, or dat nigga iz crazy! My friends have even joked and said that I may be white on the inside but dis mutha f***a is black as hell on the inside. The point is it is rediculous how society today has turned a harmless word into a no no word that only black people can say. Just like wigger, or cracker, honkie, and so on. Do I get pissed of when someone calls me a dumn ass wigger or a cracker or even a nigger lover? Hell yea I get pissed but I dont take it so far as to fight back, or even hurt or kill the individual who started the whole thing, although whoever did say it wouldnt walk away getting away with it, I always got to get in my 2 cents.     But did he go to the guy in the audience's work place and make it difficult for him to make a living? Remember, the comedian is up there trying to make money to pay the bills, just like you and me. If you don't like it or don't think you got your moneys worth, go to the manager and ask for a refund. If you sit in the audience and purposefully try to make it difficult for the guy on stage, you take what you get.
