    DON'T DO THIS AT HOME!

    Ingredients in this video are evidently fake. "Coal" is never added in chunks but rather in powder form. NEVER-EVER should black powder ingredients be ground together or mixed using force. Blask powder is sufficiently unstable and ignitable that it would selfignite if sufficiend force is aplied.

      A) You should NEVER mix your chemicals together with the oxidizer! KNO3 (Potassium Nitrate) in this case should be milled seperately from the other chemicals! The smallest spark or static will ignite the mixture - DO NOT DO THIS!!

      B) Don't use chunks of coal, if you really want to get into fireworks do it right! Join a local or state pyrotechnic's organization or PGI! All of these chemicals should have been ball milled first and the mixed in some type of anti-static situation...

      not to be cruel to the maker of this vid
      what was made in the vid wasn't gun powder, it's a 'small version' because a 1:2:2 or 1:1:1 combination was used so it wasn't very dangerous (although still not to be underestimated)

      the most frequent form of gunpowder is made of saltpeter, charcoal and sulfur with a ratio (by weight) of approximately 15:3:2 respectively.

      don't do this at home. and if you do, don't even use a plastic cup to mix cause static electricity can make a spark that could start the whole 'explosion'

    I've done something like this, but we made a pipe-bomb out of it to make it "BOOOOOOM!!!"...
    But my first try ended up like in your video...

    I had a wooden-box, and the pressure on the powder was to small so it "fizzed" :P
