What do you do when the numbers aren't c...
In the examples, the numbers are very close to each other and to the "base", but what if the numbers are not? How would you use this method to multiply 354x75 for example? or 456x972? Does this method work with negative numbers? Does it work with imaginary numbers (i)?

  With 90 base:
  
  82x86
  82= 90 -8
  86= 90 -4
  90 -8 -4 = 78
  78 x base (90) = 7020
  -4 x -8 = 32
  7020 + 32 = 7052
  
  Base 100:
  82 x 86
  82= 100 -18
  86= 100 -14
  100 -18 -14 = 68
  68 x base (100) = 6800
  -18 x -14 = 252
  6800 + 252 = 7052

Error in example 4
The process doesn't work for this one. The correct answer is 9672, but as your process shows, the first number SHOULD be 97. Please explain.

- Not incorrect
  It's just written a bit funny. Author wants the number 72 shown on screen, but the line 100 - 28 has nothing to do with the calculation.
  
  Base 100:
  93 x 104
  93= 100 -7
  104= 100 +4
  100 -7 +4 = 97
  97 x base (100) = 9700
  -7 x +4 = -28
  9700 + -28 = 9672 which is the correct answer

- 108*103=(100 plus 8)*(100 plus 3) = (100)*(100) plus (8)*(100) plus (3)*(100) plus (3)(8) =
  =(111)(100) plus (24)
  
  As long as you have base that is easy like 10, 100, 1000 etc. and numbers are relatively close it comes in quite useful.
  
  Otherwise limitations are obvious.
