The wedges were placed on a downward sloping surface, so the size would appear to change drastically when one wedge was moved to the back, even though they were the same size.

While I've seen this optical illusion many times in B/W - I've never seen it 3 D - between that and the camera angle the illusion is greatly improved. Nifty.

What's to figure out? It looked to me like some guy set down two curved pieces of plastic, one red and one yellow, then switched which order they were in, then stacked them on top of each other. Nothing changed. Nothing disappeared. There was no illusion. I don't get it.
