    This may damage your OS. If you don't let the services, which are applications that run on the background, to finish what they are doing (like saving data, etc.) your OS will not be reliable anymore.
    If you are willing to do this, why don't you just unplug your computer from the wall? It takes less than 1 second to turn off this way.

    i just press the power button in the CPU of my pc...ATS casing can be shutdown simply by pressing the power button of ur CPU case once, and it will automatically shutsdown...

    I can't think of why I would reduce service shutdown timeout. But for those who wondered what this person did.

    Go to Start » Run
    Type in regedit (to open the registry)
    Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE » SYSTEM » CurrentControlSet » Control

    and modify the "Wait To Kill Service Timeout" key (all one word) from 20000 to a smaller number. AGAIN DON'T do this, like others here have said it will destabilize your system and potentially corrupt your system over time.
