Question:
a) who supports this thing
b) how does one carry enough ammo to make it
practical
c) by the time you (salesmen) have drawn that beast
and found the target I can put 6 .45 cal rounds in
your face.
The US military will never buy such a fragile system

reload would be alot faster in all seriosness, what made you think about reloading it whenever it directs the bullets that are STACKED on top of another so there is your answer, just simply slide another "clip of stacked bullets" down the barrel and resume firing... DUH hm too bad adolf didnt know this..........

Since their lighter and fire more at a faster rate. They would never fully take over from convential weapons as you say EMP would make these useless. ie you would have metal storm as your primary weapon and a convential as your secondary weapon as they are far more reliable. I know I would rather use metal storm if it cant jam. So many needless deaths occur from gun jams. The bullets though would be specific to that weapon. can they devise a bullet that can be used in both with the same calibre??? Thats the million dollar question.

The truth is, no one wants to die on the hands of the enemy, so naturaly we need more sofisticated weapons, I saw THE FUTURE WEAPONS in the Military channel, I belive is not about killing but defending our grounds, china out-numbers us 15 to 1. and what are you gonna do if they attack?? I'm getting myself a S**t load of ammo and some bad-ass guns to stop as manny as needed. only the strong will stand, it make sence to me!!!

here i am watching a video about liquid armor that could stop bullets then im watching a video about a gun that can shoot through armor. who's side are we on?

This is a nice idea and all, but one thing kinda struck me. The gun may not jam, but its electronic... What if the IC fails? What if a capacitor blows? What if an EMP is activated in the surrounding area? Yer shagged, thats what.

Metal Storm can actually be loaded with not only 9mm rounds, but 9mm pistols, which in turn can fire 17 rounds at the target.

You're stalking around in Baghdad, and suddenly 250,000 9mm pistols come flying at you, all of them in turn depleting their 17 round clips. Pure devestation.

Eventually, the engineers hope to make mini 9mm pistols to load into the 9mm pistols as well, for unimaginable results.

If it's electronic, then maybe they can work security like in Judge Dredd. That way if these are bought as personal weapons, and someone steals it to commit a crime they can't use it. Or the person can be located by information placed in the bullet by the gun at the time of firing to see which gun it came from and who used it. In that respect it would be good.

Wait for militaries to start using them. You would never see an infantier on the battlefield again. You would still need recon guys, but any direct assault by humans against a gun like that would be suicide, especially if they have heat signature tracking systems...

Comes mainly from nukes, but an EMP burst from anything could render the guns completly useless.
