    This is the best fighter aircraft in the world, and will definitely remain so for a long time. The maneuvers, the stealth, the weapons, the performance, even the style.

      I just found out from AF sources that the F-22 can do the signature Cobra maneuver as well as the SU-37, and the 3D thrust vectoring of that aircraft does almost exactly the same thing a rudder does on any other aircraft, so I would actually place my money on the F-22 in combat air maneuvers. Not that the fact either can slide sideways in the air at <100 KTS does anything for combat maneuvering. Besides, we have better trained pilots.

  • People are crazy.

    The f22 has thrust vectoring capabilties. Not to the extent of the russian fighters, but enough. The one thing it dos have that no other fighter can claim, as far as I know is that it can go supersonic without hitting the afterburners. Thats pretty cool giving it much longer fuel time and higher rate of speed in closing on the target.

  • the trick

    watched a program on f22 air to air techniques. what they do is have one advertise his whereabouts with his radar, he gets a lock on you so you go after him. what you don't see is the f22 coming in from a diferent area with all this information being fed to his aircraft closes in on you fast. thus the want for supercruise. he then uses the data from the first fighter to lock on and fire from the side or behind. that and the whole plane is basicly an antena so it is constantly gathering inteligence on any radio transmisions. so it goes beyond just being a fighter jet. and in 50 years we might know all of what it could do when its old news and declassified.

  • F-22 Raptor aerobatic technics

    This is not true.The MIG-29 M OVT can much more difficult aerobatc maneuver as the F-22. The raptor is a fantastic plane..too.. but the Russian Fighters Mig-29KOVT(3-D thrust vectoring) and Suchoi SU-37(2-D) have a better aerodynamic.

      maybe not all info is known about this plane and its competition , for after searching for only a few minutes i came across a mig37 vid that was posted a cpl months ago showing its clearly superior maneuvering ability , due to what some people mustve missed in its design, that being the forward variable pitch canards , which as one can not only deduce their purpose, but can see in action , also, the migs thrust vector nozzles can vary in a plane equal to the fuselage, in other words from side to side , making it able to do lateral tail-over moves.
      as far as someone else claiming some imaginary 80 mile distance for an AAM to be launched ?, the asraam and amraam aim-9 and aim120 the f22 carry have a range of 11 miles and 30 miles respectively and are not GPS programmable like a hellfire which although a agm , can be used against an aircraft under certain conditions , finally radar profile , ok get a clue dipsticks, if you are so knowledgable about tha f22 being AS or MORE stealthy as the f117a goblin , youre whacked!!! the 117 has the radar cross- section equivalent to a BB , and for reference , the b-2 bomber has one as that of a bumblebee , this info i learned not from books or internet, but from a b2 test pilot , and being stealthy doesnt mean youre aerodynamic doofus , oh yeah... NOTHING is the only thing that is invisible to radar , but youre right wdst20 , that vert power move from a near stop was pretty neat!!!

      agreed, lol i saw it tried to do Su's singnature move the "Cobra", but had to pull out halfway. Now don't take me wrong...i have lots of respect for F-22. It is hands down 1 of the best planes out there, like i said 1 of the best. Who is the best...we may never know until we them all in 1 ring.

      its a british program for determining aircraft performance. its actualy found on the ef 2000 website. in any event it dos give an edge in agility to the f22. in second is the ef 2000 and then the su 35. as for the cobra manouver there was a program on discovery chanel they were talking to a british fighter pilot, They asked about it. his reply was that it was impresive but useless in arial combat. said he would love it if his target all of a suden qaudrupled in size. over all though he was very impressed with its performance.

      stealth and aerodynamics are not relaed that closely. example the f 117 is not very aerodynamic but extremely stealthy. thus its subsonic top speed.

      They also have a fake cloud attachment kit thats made from 156 pounds of cottonballs. So even if it is picked up on radar, the interceptors will just fly right by it. Google (fake cloud cottonball kit).
