A spontaneous protest took place in the streets of Tel Aviv late last night, after a gunman shot dead two people and wounded at least 15 others in an attack at a central Tel Aviv gay and lesbian center, before fleeing the scene.

Witnesses told Israeli television that the black-clad, masked gunman stormed into the Tel Aviv Gay and Lesbian Association building and opened fire in a basement room where gay teenagers were holding a weekly support group. Most of the casualties were minors, a police spokesman said.

Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to the people and families of those involved. It's a very sad day for LGBT all over the world. Together we stand, together we are strong. Together we can fight this senseless hate.

    why does this keep happening? It just F**king hurts that narrow minded people once looked down upon a black man and some still do but at least it's gotten better... but after all this years, homophobia keeps happening... i don't know what else to say... it just hurts.

    I distain the term hate crime. I mean really, it's a crime already, why do you have to add hate to the end? All the difference in terms does is promote a difference among our race. If i killed someone in school, it would be hateful already! If it happened to be a black or gay person, why add hate to the term? It's hateful already, and like i said, the term only promotes a difference between us humans.

    Its amazing that so many people think that the LBGTQ community are the ones to blame for so much intolerance and hate but they never stop to think that its the LBGTQ community who never start these fights. That its the hateful, bigoted, viiolent straight community who seek us out to kill us, to maim us, to R**e us, to mutilate us. Its amazing they never stop to think about that point.
