    Yes the kid might look strong and powerful. But hey! At his age, his body is not designed to handle all that load. As a doctor, if you would not let your body grow as normally as possible then it would lead to all kinds of problem. One of that is stunted growth. A kid's bone is soft to allow it to grow. But forcing it like that would harden the bone. His father is forcing the kid to do things which as a kid is not meant to be. And I think it is cruel.
