A big rig trailer lost one of its tires on a freeway. The tire went rolling at over fifty miles an hour down the freeway coming only the width of a cops gun holster from killing him.

    That's why you work with a budy system. One look out and one person working. I'm a professional tow truck driver and I've seen stuff like this first hand. Incidently did you know the space between cars parked on the side of the road is known as the dead or kill zone because people are killed while standing between vehicles every year. The same spot is as far off the shoulder as possible.

    If he was a smart officer he would have had the moterist drive down the shoulder to a safer place to change the tire. A rim is cheaper than a human life.

      of doing his job, we don't always get to choose where they can be put to replace the tire or pull them over, but he probably should have at least tried
