You have to admit, the human species should be beyond this by now. War gear is technically beautiful, but what its made for still S**ks . Its not really something to be proud of. Its a shame we have to have it.

Do you have any basic idea of the Apache's capabilities and how advanced the AH-64D Longbow is. Plus a helicopter is pointless if you don't have pilots. The 101st has some of the best helicopter pilots around. A dual main rotor is a horrible idea. Lose just one rotor and your done for. Same for the Apache but it can survive longer do to the large lift capacity of the blade it could RTB two rotors.

Don't get me wrong, the Apache is one of the most powerful helicopters ever created, but the KA-50's rotors can both withstand 20mm cannon hits.

Dude the apache is made for multi-purpose attack missions. equipped with with air-to-air missiles and air-to-ground missiles but, the apache is often used as ground support for infantry, plus the double rotor idea is a horrible idea yes, they may survive 20-30 mm hits but there is a weakness ones it is hit the KA-50 needs immediate repairs because the blades may malfunction as result may fly out of the swash plate which the results are Devastating.......

The KA-50 has twin rotor blades, on directly on top of the other, and spinning in different directions. The rotors can withstand 20mm cannon hits, and this helicopter has an ejection system! Now before you ask how is that possible, this helicopter's rotors are blasted off before ejection, allowing safe escape from the helicopter. The KA-50, now THATS a helicopter!

it cost so much because of the equipment that it carries...... plus the ejection seat, GPS, etc....

As long as they don't go into politics or learn through experience that war doesn't mean the safety of any country, I could care less what they do. Joining the military is a position worthy of respect, but people who express such feelings as some of the posters on this video about their fellow civilians are a disgrace. The only waste of money I can fathom through your comment is that of your education... Imagine, without the ability to project power, to show that the US can defend itself, how weak would we appear to foreign powers. Without the ability to project this power, or to use this hardware militarily to protect our allied nations, where would we be? You do understand that our significant economic ties to countries such as Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, (the ties that allow you save $ on your PC, DVD player, microwave, etc), are reinforced with military hardware such as this. Thats because your country lives under the blanket of protection that the US provides to you. You have the luxury of criticizing our methods all while you are reliant on the US.
