Speed up your computer's boot time by disabling the Windows XP splash screen.
There is no limit to the fetish of "fastness" of human beings.. Remove Windows and your black box will boot uniquely fast...
By istihza 1164565408For the first time the first comment posted is actually funny instead of insulting.
By ZackScott 1164566037The guy only gave us a little tip for those who like to reduce the boot time.
But i must recognise your comment was a little funny....
1. Windows loads the "boot splash" kernel side
2. Disabling it does nothing since the "boot splash" isnt userspace.
3. To test this try to change your "boot splash" you need to edit the windows nt kernel.
4. What an idiot
Does nothing it still take awhile to boot you just don't have to watch the dumm boot splash. so now I must say I hate you for this b.s, If you want to help, make it worth while or just shoot your self....
By unforgiven666 1169531523This does as it says, regarding eliminating the boot up screen, but it does not do anything to the start up. The only way to speed up performance is to do one of these things:
(1) Have less S**t start up
(2) Have a better computer, or increase RAM (as long as its not already at its maximum)
(3) Stop watching pr0n that fills your computer with S**t that slows your computer down
(4) Dont have stupid p2p applications that are the worst way to download S**t anyways, ie LimeWire
Your computer should not be shut down often anyway, it wastes more power, turning it on, then keeping it on Hibernate for days. I suggest using Stand'by or Hibernate as methods to leave your computer, and only restarting if need be, or if you have installed several programs or made any system changed.
As well, if you want to make your computer truely run faster, then please.. defrag (only needed, at most, bi-weekly), but you will notice more result than any tuning/tweaking tips or software.
Another good program to try is www.crapcleaner.com <-- great utility for safely removing all your S**t files, and un-used registry entries (removes safe ones).
for the best p2p, use www.limewire.com, but the best way to download anything is to use Torrents.
www.azureus.com for Mac/PC
www.utorrent.com is really good for PC
use sites like www.torrentspy.com, www.mininova.org
It doesn't do anything. All it does is take away the 'Windowsxp' thing. Its for someone who likes looking at black more, then watching something else.
By Cartoonist 1164732496This is complete claptrap. I tried it immediately and it didn't make the slightest difference to my PC's boot-up time. Instead of the splash screen it went black, but for exactly the same amount of time that the splash screen would have lasted.
By peterl1950 1164646629I LOOKED IN "COMMENTS" JUST FOR WHAT HAPPENS...
THANKS!
I is a new computer owner. I tries your advice and now mine's computer does not turn on. It is true - I must sues you for compensation, you diddly hole.
and please do something about your grammar, I'm not verry good in English either, but you S**k ; )
By JDM8 1164651463I had the same problem. When you boot, press F8 to access boot options. Boot under safemode. do windowsconfig. Undo the disable the vid tells you. Then reboot when it says to. It will be fixed. Its what I had to do to fix the same damn problem.
By JonnyMcCoy 1164782400I've never lolled so hard in my life. haha
By wardrich 1164659106you seriously called him a diddly hole.... that is awsome
By thebryanexperience 1164652859Instead of the Windows XP splash screen, it just displays a black screen with a white pointer.
By ale123 1220303238This dosent do what the video states, all it does is remove the Windows XP Startup screen and replace it with a black screen. It still takes the same amount of time to start.
By im2short2die 1182752961Well, I've got a tip for all of those who want to have better Pcs. This is the secret: Don't buy new RAM, or a better Processor, Don't spend money upgrading your hardware!!! Just try LINUX and you'll be amazed of the many different things your computer does.
By chiky2006 1174281106still takes the same amount of time, just didn't display the screen
By michael&kristina 1171596351BS!!!! All it does is replace your windows boot screen with a black window instead. takes exactly as long time to start up
By livelife_dieyoung 1170169268I've a question ...
I disable the splash screen and when I stop in a wrong way Windows disappears the screen of recovery too and the system remains with the blink ..
It's possible that this depends from the splash screen ??
You should repost this on supporttube.com to help more people.
By exzaltid 1166487928by applying this technique it makes computers start off in selective startup mode, what effects does this have on your computer besides not displaying the original splash screen and using the modified one?
By SA0SIN 1165964338this can be found on Cds you can buy and help for windows msconfig been around for ages and any normal help cd you buy or read in books tell you this crap so why win money on something you did not really do or show people when its been around thats copy right law
By Guardwolf21 1165216942Metacafe is free, you don't get a cent, and unless those are the exact words of those CDs and help files, it's not copyright fraud.
By retartedname 1165869933This is bull crap it wont do anything to boot time its running in software vesa which is supported by any graphics card thats why its only ion 8 bit color... Also the bootsplash is *in* the kernel meaning it still loads it even if you select it.
By nmcsween 1165117386it's good as i can say, but actually it's useless , cause it takes the same time to access the welcome screen, it just disables the loading logo, and gets black screen instead with the same time it takes to access the welcome screen
By torero8617 1165042864I had the same problem. When you boot, press F8 to access boot options. Boot under safemode. do windowsconfig. Undo the disable the vid tells you. Then reboot when it says to. It will be fixed. Its what I had to do to fix the same damn problem.
Trust me...I had the problem of the black screen and this fixed it.
I followed the video exactly, and now my computer will not start up. When the splash screen used to come up now it is just black, and it never does anything.
Is there a way of fixing this easily?
this task does not speed up your boot time, it basically disable's the splash .ini and dll's to run. The drivers and all Windows components still are being loaded. If you need a fast boot up, do what another person said, HYBERNATE!
By Captain Barefoot 1164728951...for all of you people worried about boot up times.
It's called "Hibernate"!
Buy a MAC and stop worrying about all this crap
By Vilo 1164680387what if one uses a PC for gaming?
very few games that came out for PC came out for Mac.. and they S**k monkey poops :/
I have my doubts that it really speeds anything up... considering the fact that when you see your physical desktop, it's still technically not 100% ready to go yet... The stuff that loads during the bootscreen will still have to load, so I can't see this being all that much of a useful tweak.
By wardrich 1164659033if ur computer is too weak to load the splash screen otherwise it is useless
By FriedStickMan 1164643922so insted of me watching the spalsh screen, am watching a black screen and the boot takes the same time!!!!
thanks anyway for the tip.
thank u for all these tips. U have helped me very much with your tips. keep them up please.
By coachtad63 1164639716thank u for all these tips. U have helped me very much with your tips. keep them up please.
By coachtad63 1164639598My computer loads startup programs too... and that is slower than drawing a flag... ;)
By Timpezon 1164581028Welcome to the jungle
We've got fun 'n' games
We got everything you want
Honey, we know the names
We are the people that can find
Whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey
We got your disease
CHORUS:
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your
knees, knees
I wanna watch you bleed
Welcome to the jungle
We take it day by day
If you want it you're gonna bleed
But it's the price you pay
And you're a very sexy girl
That's very hard to please
You can taste the bright lights
But you won't get them for free
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Feel my, my, my serpentine
I, I wanna hear you scream
Welcome to the jungle
It gets worse here everyday
Ya learn ta live like an animal
In the jungle where we play
If you got a hunger for what you see
You'll take it eventually
You can have anything you want
But you better not take it from me
CHORUS
And when you're high you never
Ever want to come down, YEAH!
You know where you are
You're in the jungle baby
You're gonna die
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your
knees, knees
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Feel my, my, my serpentine
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your
knees, knees
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your
It' gonna bring you down-HA!
speed up boot time by a second or so, even less than a second.
How much resource do you reckon a low quality image takes to display on a screen? Not alot thats what.
did'nt help.. there are no splash screen anymore. just a black screeen..it take the same time
By Mobil 1164572699oh it disables the splash screen ok but just takes as long to boot your just lrft with a black screen no, quicker at all.
By megasus 1164668192it seems longer without the splash screen... probably because you don't see the loading tab.
