yes Argie I'm not a weed smoker but in Lesotho the police used to burn the seized weed, called "dagga" per hundereds of kilos at the time, and sometimes the whole of the town was high.

I read once
in south africa as the authorities burnt a load of weed, the wind changed direction and everyone in a near town got wasted. Which must've been good as everyone loved everyone else and things were good.... for at least a day!!!
