SHOUT OUTS (The Hip Hop Dedication)
To all of our hip hop heroes, pioneers and legends, Brick Casey would like to thank you for your love and dedication to the Hip Hop culture.
This project, 'SHOUT OUTS' commemorates the efforts of the all MC's and DJ's who have helped to pioneer Hip Hop towards it's position in the world today.
It is because of their creative efforts that Hip Hop has not only become a way of life for many....but a source of empowerment for others.
Since day one Hip Hop as an industry has firmly established itself in the recording community.. From the early days of be-bopping, beat box ciphers, break dancing and MC battles...Hip Hop has evolved into one of the most popular selling music genres in the history of commercial music.
Hip hop has dominated all other genres of music and historically has been the only music genre to satisfy audiences of ever race, creed and gender across the globe. Like life....Hip Hop has had it's share of influences on the masses...some good, some bad. And quite honestly, that is the greatest quality to Hip Hop....IT IS REAL.
From the artist expelling truth as they see it to the audience receiving the message(s), Hip Hop has given meaning to the lives of many.
Critics believe that Hip Hop, (at the core), is simply a rudimentary form of music. We who know Hip Hop know that Hip Hop not only has provided the world with original music....but jobs for many, color to life, empowerment, vision and hope for those who would otherwise have no means to such things.
So respectfully, with this release, I personally thank all of you MC's and DJ's who made it all happen. Without these artists, (whose names are too many to list), there would have never been a Brick Casey.
Much love to you all....peace and thank you.
Sincerely yours,
Brick Casey - 100
