While many Americans remember the 1960s as the era of peace, love and flower power, in many urban neighborhoods something quite different was happening - the rise of violent and deadly street gangs.

This book, a work of fiction was inspired by actual events. It is a real life account by someone who was there as a juvenile in Compton CA in the 60s. He saw the impact on his and other families when his own brothers became street gang leaders. And, later in his life when for more than 30 years, as a San Diego Police Officer, he dealt directly with the devastation caused by these gangs.
