You're both wrong. April 24, 1988, Marine Col. Jerry Cadick MCAS El Toro Air Show crashed his F/A-18 Hornet at the bottom of a loop that was too close to the ground. His face impacting the control stick and sustaining serious injury. He broke his arm, elbow, ribs, exploded a vertebrae and collapsed a lung. Col. Cadick was the commanding officer of MAG-11, 3rd MAW.

    • yes you are right

and the other idiot who claims it was in Moscow is lost! I was there and I belonged to MAG 11, VMFA 314. Colonel Cadick was the MAG CO at the time and was close to retirement. I have photos of the crash and just remember the sudden stir of concern as the manuever went wrong and I had also seen him do the same loop atleast 10x that week since the airshow was all week long and the crash was that Saturday.

  • that's not F16

first of all that was a fa 18 and you can tell that was a low speed landing stall which ended by crashing the tail = airplane to the ground...:)

  • That is an FA-18

this was at the Moscow International airshow in 1993. This plane belongs to the US 142nd Airborne Division. The pilot is Henry Ruslow, he flew on the next day of the airshow.
