    Yamaha R1 should beat them all, but at the end of the race it had problem with clutch, too forced on start.
    Porsche turbo was chip tuned with digitaltuning.ch about 40PS. Plain is supersonic, Serbian produced - Super Galeb

    It was obious what was gonna happen even before the movie started. With incredible acceleration but low top speed, the bike takes off first and holds first position a long time. for the porshe and the plane, it was sure that the light porshe would take off much faster than the heavy plane. the plane caught up, then the porshe caught up again, but by that time the plane had far beaten its top speed and is ready for take off. that time the porshe had beaten the top speed of the bike and is now in second postion. no land vehicle can beat the plane and it's realy obvious that a car has far better top speed than a bike and on such a distances can eventually catch up with the bike and pass it.

    When you clearly see there's a big difference between the vehicles...
    First of all it;s the horse power difference the plane should have around 200.000 bhp on both engines, and what is that compared to around 500 bhp on the Porsche or 100 bhp(likely) on the bike. And second of all the wight difference ...
    I clearly don't see the point of this race....but the fun :P
    And .... the bike should have come 2nd because if it;s an R1 it has higher acceleration speed , and higher top speed that a 911 Turbo(it it's not modified in some way :D)

    For those who think Viper can´t go fast around corners I tell you something I saw. In Brazil, where I live, there is one traditional long race, every year, called "1000 miles of Interlagos" (Mil milhas de Interlagos). Of course it lasts 1000 miles and it takes place in Interlagos where the F-1's race in Brazil. There are always some Ferraris, BMW's, Audi's, and lots, lots of Porsches. The Porsches have dominated and won almost every edition of this race. But in 2004, one only Dodge Viper GTS appeared here among them, driven by an Italian team (three pilots), kicked everybody's ass and finished in the very first place some laps away from the second place. And I can´t forget how easily it swallowed those european cars straight line or around bends. When the Dodge Viper accelerated leaving them behind it really looked like they had toy engines. I confess I am a Dodge fan from long time ago, but I got really surprised how superior it was.

    While these types of race are fun to watch there not really a fair comparision. Sports bikes will always beat cars off the line, even the Viper 1000 thing, but in the end the extra power and top end of a car will help to beat the bike.

    Add corners into this and things change lots, BHP alone does not equal fast. If you search for 'Top laptimes Nürburgring Nordschleife' you'll see that the beloved Dodge Viper(admittedly only a GTS) gets thrashed by a lot of cars, inlcuding a Caterham 7 Superlight R which only has 190bhp, i'm not bashing American cars, but while you can make some very fast cars, they just can't cope with corners like european car and before anyone mentions it, yes the GT40 won LeMans back in the 60's but since then no american built car has won overall.

      Thats all I have to say. Look at the lap times on that and compare a stock car with it. The only thing to come close is a heavily modified car or a half a million dollar Carrera GT. Chevy's C6-R would kick its ass... and I am not a GM guy... And you don't need horsepower to pull a fast lap time, weight and suspension are the most improtant.

      that link points at a video... street race video... imagine the faster dodge ever (modified of cource), and next to it the faster and "dont know what to do with my money" dude in europe (in a bugatti - also modified). trust me its the last race i ever saw... i love street races and i've been doenloading videos since i was 15. now am 26 and really think i dont need to see anything more races to know whats the faster car. i've seen it all... poor leader of usa street racing didnt know where that bugatti dude went. it was like he raced normally and the bugatti teleported at the finish line ^_^. i got to tell you that i've seen 2 videos with that usa racer. and the first time he raced in europe, he really made that turbocharged lambo look like toy.he is good. but just far away from bugatti standards (the car with 1001 horse power as it comes out of the factory - no mods) anyway sry for writing so many things :P I just thought i'd let you know who wins, before you spend 20 years on finding out like i did :)

      highly modified or costing half a million not really. The Catherham which only costs £26,000 or the Radical SR3 on road tyres cost £60,00 which are both quicker.

      if you go to nordschleife.no and have a look at the times, you'll see that there aren't many american cars which post very quick times.

      American car companies don't need to make cars that handle for the US market, your roads just don't need good handling cars, if they did maybe there would be more US sports cars sold abroad.

      When it comes to suspension isn't it only recently that Corvette have stopped using leaf springs? which haven't been used on Euro or Japanese cars for decades because they handle badly.

      So as I see it, the Dodge Viper beats the Bugatti in all but the estimated top speed. But I did find that neither the Bugatti or the Viper Venom have NOT been tested to there FULL potential.
      Don't get me wrong I respect EVERYTHING about these cars and many more but the Dodge Viper 1000TT is just a step up from it on most levels.

    i read an article on the viper and it said that the 9.9 second run was done with "cheater slicks" i take it they aint the standard tires it uses??
    What no one has mentioned is that the veyron was designed and built to the same reliability standards VW sets for its Golfs and regular everyday cars!!!! Where as i imagine the viper will break after 2 seconds!!! It is relatively easy to make a car go as fast as the viper venom, but to do that plus make it reliable!? Not so easy...
    With respect to the racing round a circuit, the veyron is 4wd so can maintain much higher speeds around corners than the rwd viper ....... THE VEYRON WUD WIPE THE FLOOR WITH THE VIPER ROUND A TRACK!!! and i'm talking proper tracks here not Nas-boring-car ovals!!!

      0-180mph in 17.4 seconds

      The Dodge Would still take it down in any race, on any turf. But the Bugatti Veyron has an estimated top end speed of 279mph but it has an electronic limiter, which keeps it at 250mph, the Dodge Viper Venom is up to 255mph, but I think thats its limit. Bugatti Veyron might handle alittle better but the faster acceleration of the Dodge Viper Venom would make up for it and take the win.

American cars such as the Ford Focus outsell European cars in Europe. There are also more American cars sold in the U.S. than any other brand. In case you didn't take an econ class- the market forces are more telling than magazine specs.

      The Viper is fast and will outperform Porsche, Bugatti, Jaguar, Mercedes, etc. in a number of fields, but is it a better car? That is an entirely subjective question.

      The Bugatti would be behind the Dodge Viper for a LONG LONG time the Dodge Viper would top out at 255mph and after awhile the Bugatti would FINALLY catch up, "only if it was a long race". The Bugatti has a 16/4 and the Viper has a 10/2 and the Dodge would still smoke it like its nothing. Like I said if it was a VERY VERY LONG RACE then the Bugati would FINALLY catch up, but during the turns when they slow down the Dodge would come out of the turns alot faster pulling wayy ahead so all in all the Dodge Viper would win on a track, or drag, ONLY way the Bugatti would win if it was a straight shot track that is like 200 miles long. Only that one kind of race would the Bugati even have ANY chance of beating the Viper.

      Dodge Vipers cant go around corners to save their lives, like many american supercars. The bugatti is an amazing car and its 4WD. It handles like a dream. Ask anyone who knows a thing about racing, with cars with a fairly similar straight line performance, the car with much better handling will always win on a decent track FULL STOP. Im not just american bashing here, its just that in proper racing series likes Lemans and F1, the toprunners are never american companies. Bugattis have racing heritage. They know how to make proper handling race cars, but if i wana buy a truck il happily buy a dodge. Dont get me wrong dodge vipers are decent cars, but please dont say they can handle well cos they simply cant. Man im tired after writing this...

    I've had 2 R1's before. That looks like a 2002 - 2003 Fuel injected R1. The car is a new generation Porsche Turbo. I've had my Fuel Injected R1 up to 179 MPH on a straightaway. It takes a while to climb the rpms. The Porsche torque curve is what helped it.

  • Bike vs. Porsche...hmm...

    I dont care really what the bike is, the Porsche is a early model 911 turbo, probably a 2003-2004 model. Top speeds are around 160-170 MPH (i have no idea what it is for the metric ppl here). Bike didn't stand a chance. Yes, better accelration, but on a mile course (which it seemed to be), Porsche will triumph.
    Now, against a jet...thats just one sided ;-)

      While top fuel dragsters are cool, this is a bit of a daft statement really.

      Sure the top fueller will be faster, but the F1 car will be able to slow down without a parachute, turn round on it's own, drive back to the start ready for another go, while the dragster will be needing an engine rebuild and refueling.

      Also for all you lot banging on about how great the Dodge Viper is, have a look how they perform on the Nordschleife, a real test of a cars performance

      Ye twas good, power boat vs bar honda f1 car vs British superbike honda fireblade. Boat got thrashed the whole way, bike was winning to start off with but the rider couldnt keep the wheel down so the f1 car caught up and overtook it an then pretty much thrashed it. Id like 2 see a re-race of it with rossi on his motogp yamaha m1, that would be close.

      the prosche passes the bike but that is only 'cause it's got a bigger topspeed (which is by the way not a problem for a real bike...) and of course the avion has the most weight but also most power, that's why it takes some time to speed up...

      lets get one thing straight, there has NEVER been a good handeling american sports car ever invented. ive had more fun nailing things to myself than driving on american roads, people have fallen asleep at the wheel and simply carried on for miles in a straight line. dont compare the dodge to the bugatti - the veyron is a complex and highly tuned automobile, with entire legions of european engineers aiming to create the ultimate sports car, in both performance and driveability. its 11 intercoolers and quad-turbos are just an insight into the thought and passion put into the mechanics of this beast. the dodge is a quarterback on steroids and a passion for big macs. turn the wheel an inch to the left or right and ul send the back all over the place because it is simply a hidiously designed car. its an engine with a fat shell surrounding it. dont talk 2 me about the dodge beating anything on a track, bring one anywhere near an ACTUAL race track with these funny roundish things called corners and ul be in the dirt before ive started my engine.
      i drive an fq-400 so dont think i dont think i dont know what im talking about when i speak of handeling. when uve worked out what car that is, maybe then ul realise what the art of engineering means.
